Expedited Licensing: Veterans Full Employment Act of 2013

On April 17, 2013, the Veterans Full Employment Act of 2013 was signed.   The new law took effect July 1, 2013. The Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing and Commissioner of Financial Regulation are dedicated to assisting recently discharged veterans and spouses of currently serving members of the United States Armed Forces, including active duty reservists and members of the National Guard obtain occupational and professional licenses in Maryland.

Occupational and Professional Licensing

The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation’s Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing and the Commissioner of Financial Regulation are now able to expedite certain occupational and professional licenses for recently discharged veterans and spouses of currently serving members of the United States Armed Forces, including active duty reservists and members of the National Guard. Emergency Medical Services Licensing

Health Care Occupational Licensing

Teacher Credentialing

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) credentials educators who are required to hold a certificate to teach in certain Maryland Public Schools, Non-Public Special Education Schools and other state agencies. MSDE expedites credentialing for U.S. Armed Forces service members and their spouses seeking employment as educators in these entities.
