2019 Annual Report

The Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs 2019 Annual Report is now available.  Highlights from the report include:

  • The Service Program, in FY19, submitted 4,917 disability compensation and pension claims for adjudication to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
  • Maryland Veterans received almost 34 million dollars in new/increased and one-time monthly cash benefits with support from the Service Program
  • The most recent 2019 year to date census for the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home reached 88% capacity
  • Volunteers contributed more than 12,000 donated hours to the Veterans Home in 2019
  • The Cemetery Program interred 3,390 veterans and dependents in 2019 with three out of five cemeteries among the top ten busiest cemeteries in the Country
  • The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund distributed approximately $126,000 in grants and loans to veterans in need
  • The Outreach and Advocacy Program attended 110 events in 2019, made over 2,500 face to face contacts with the community and grew its email distribution to over 135,000 contacts
