Heather Geraldes was born into a family of naval seamen and is a native of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. She joined the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families in July 2024 as the Veterans Trust Fund Administrator.
With over a decade of leadership in community-based philanthropy and two decades of management experience, she is appropriately tasked with leading an expansion of services that will increase the Maryland Veteran’s Trust Fund’s impact on veterans and military families.
Heather completed an M.B.A. in Nonprofit Management from Wilmington University in 2020. She also holds the credentials of Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) and Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Heather also serves as an adjunct professor for the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance credential program at Salisbury University. Heather lives with her husband on the Eastern Shore and enjoys traveling, a love of poetry and nature.
