The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) supports a statewide network of 31 nonprofit agencies that provide foreclosure prevention assistance to homeowners in Maryland. HOPE counselors within this network are the critical link in assisting individuals facing foreclosures, acting as a resource to negotiate reasonable terms with mortgage servicers, and advising citizens on the best actions to take to save their homes.
As soon as you start having trouble paying for your home, and to connect to a counselor, call the HOPE Hotline at 877-462-7555.
