GI Bill Education Benefits and Education Scholarships

The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) serves as the official State Approving Agency (SAA), an approving authority for the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  A goal of MHEC is to increase the awareness of every veteran, service member and/or eligible dependent concerning the full range of both educational and training opportunities available in the State of Maryland.  Many veterans can qualify for more than one education program including the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill, Veterans Education Assistance Program, as well as others.

Additionally, MHEC provides information on whether academic credit can be awarded for a student’s military training, coursework and education at public institutions of higher education in Maryland. For more information visit the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) website.

For more information, specific to veterans, active duty service members, and eligible dependents visit the MHEC veteran page.
