​​​​​The Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) serves as the official State Approving Agency, an approving authority for the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs. MHEC approves educational institutions for Maryland veterans on behalf of the U.S. Department of Vetera​ns Affairs.​

Scholarships

Edward T. Conroy Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to provide aid for tuition and other educational expenses to veterans and their family members who are attending an institution of higher learning within the borders of the State of Maryland.

Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to United States armed​ forces personnel who served in the Afghanistan or Iraq Conflicts, and their son, daughter, stepson, stepdaughter, or spouse attending a Maryland postsecondary institution.
