Burial

The State of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families (DVMF) are honored to offer our veterans, National Guard, Reservists and their eligible dependents a final resting place.
Maryland has five state veterans cemeteries located throughout the state where Veterans, National Guard, Reservists and their family members can be laid to rest.
Veterans, National Guard, Reservists and their family members must meet criteria established by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration (NCA) to be eligible for burial at a Maryland Veterans Cemetery. National Guard, Reservists, and their family members will also be required to meet Maryland residency requirements for burial eligibility.
Eligible veterans and their dependents receive a burial plot, a grave liner, headstone and interment services at no expense. DVMF can help with pre-interment planning, burial scheduling, grave assignments and Military Funeral Honors.
Maryland has multiple memorials honoring Maryland residents who served our country in wartime.
