DVMF Joins Carry The Load for 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance
The Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families joined Carry The Load’s 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance on September 12 at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
Volunteers honored the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognized the service and sacrifices of military members, veterans, first responders and their families. Participants completed cleanup and beautification projects throughout the cemetery, helping care for the final resting place of Maryland veterans and their eligible family members.
The event was part of a nationwide initiative organized by Carry The Load in partnership with the National Cemetery Administration. Volunteer projects were held at more than 140 cemeteries across the country, transforming remembrance into meaningful service.
DVMF thanks Carry The Load, Crownsville Veterans Cemetery staff and every volunteer who dedicated their time to honoring our nation’s heroes. Their service helped ensure that the sacrifices of those who served—and those we lost on September 11—are never forgotten.
